Senior Project Development Manager (m/f/d) Wind and Solar

In our Project & Business Development teams we concentrate our know-how for exciting established and future international markets as well as future opportunities in the field of renewable energies. With a direct line to the Executive Board, you can further develop business areas and realize projects that have a relevant influence on ABO Wind's business and contribute significantly to its success.


Your passion

  • You manage wind and solar projects in South Africa from site acquisition, planning, engineering and permitting to construction
  • You support the project team during auctions and sales processes
  • You identify new project sites and negotiate lease agreements with landowners
  • You check network access options and evaluate them from a technical, legal and commercial perspective
  • You commission and coordinate external service providers and local partners
  • You support business development and networking
  • You manage due diligence processes during the project acquisition phase  


Your qualification

  • You have a degree in environmental sciences, engineering, geography or similar 
  • You have at least five years of professional experience
  • You have professional experience with the development of renewable energy projects in South Africa
  • You are experienced in project management
  • You speak fluent English
  • You are a skilled and confident negotiator
  • You think like an entrepreneur
  • Your working method is action-oriented and effective
  • You are willing to travel regularly

Personal meetings and exchange strengthen our project work and cohesion, but mobile working has also proven its worth. We generally offer a mix of presential work and mobile work from home, from abroad or in one of our decentralised office hubs. 

We focus on transparency, fairness, and openness: our Development teams are in constant, trustful exchange with communities, landowners and authorities. They also inform residents about the progress of our projects.

Our construction and project managers are regularly on site at the locations of our renewable energy projects.

Every three years, the entire ABO Wind workforce from 16 countries comes together for the "Global Meeting", where, in addition to training courses, top-class guest lectures and networking, celebrating and fun are also on the agenda.

Our colleagues also show their best side on the dance floor. Our Christmas parties or the parties at the Global Meeting are legendary. Many colleagues also get together in their free time - for example, for rock climbing, playing football or card games.
